Fidelity International (Fidelity) was established nearly 40 years ago and provides asset management services to investors outside the Americas. We now manage assets worth more than £120 billion. We believe Fidelity's success as an international financial services provider is a result of our commitment to act in the best interests of our clients. The independence we enjoy as a privately owned company enables us to concentrate on developing innovative products and providing the highest levels of customer service. We have always believed it is in the best interests of our investors to be specialising and focusing exclusively in the field of asset management. Fidelity's UK office was opened in 1973 and we maintain close links with Fidelity Management and Research, our US affiliate, which was founded in Boston in 1946 and is one of the largest mutual fund companies in America. The two companies draw on each other's extensive research capabilities, which mean our portfolio managers have access to detailed, up-to date analysis on companies that make up 95% of global market capitalisation – our bottom up fundamental analysis of these companies forms the foundation upon which our client portfolios are constructed. Services We provide investment solutions to local authorities, pension schemes, charities, building societies and insurance companies. UK local authority pension funds are an extremely important and growing part of our business. Today we manage over £2.6 billion for local authorities on a pooled and segregated basis. We provide a range of products including:
Segregated Solutions
Pooled Funds
Commitment We have been managing local authority money for nearly 10 years and are fully committed to providing the highest levels of performance and client service. In addition, the value we place on local authority pension funds is demonstrated by the fact we are heavily involved in supporting and researching the market. Research We commission an annual survey to analyse the role of fixed income assets within local authority pension funds. The research is prepared by Crispin Derby Ltd, in conjunction with the University of Plymouth, and has now built up over four years worth of data. We will carry out this survey each year to provide an informative and up-to-date view fixed income investment's role in local authority portfolios, as well as providing support in many other areas of the market.
